Subir Pal heads the Robotics and Motion division in ABB India. An electrical engineer from IIT Kharagpur, he joined ABB in 1980 as a global trainee. During his stint, he was responsible for introducing the first B2B commerce platform for ABB’s product businesses in India. Subir returned to ABB in 2012 to take charge first as the Country Business Development Manager and later as the Division President for Discrete Automation and Motion Division. Under his leadership, ABB RM division achieved various feats. About 50% of the solar power generated in India passes through ABB equipment and ABB is also the largest manufacturer of wind converters and solar inverters in India.
