I'm the product manager for special VSD motors meaning motors that are designed exclusively for variable speed operation. I started with permanent magnet motors and high speed motors for about ten years ago. That experience gives good background when we are now commercializing the new SynRM motor and drive packages. The SynRM technology can very well become the main stream technology for variable speed applications. I enjoy exploring new areas with my favorite hobbies of boating and downhill skiing. The same "pioneer spirit" is useful also in my working life. When working with new technology motors pioneer spirit is not only needed when it comes to the technology. The biggest challenges are faced in commercializing the products as most traditional processes are no longer applicable. I hope I manage to share this spirit within our organization globally because doing new things require open mind for new way of thinking.
