Born in Lucca (Italy), he started his conductor activity in 1994 with almost 200 performances both in Opera and Symphonic repertoire, in Italy and abroad (UK, Bulgaria, Egypt, France) concentrating his work on PUCCINI E LA SUA LUCCA Festival, for which he leads an operatic/symphonic season of 15 concerts every year. He worked with the Sophia Philharmonic Orchestra, Sophia Symphony Orchestra, Strauss Konzert Orchestra, Orchestra Lirico Sinfonica di Grosseto, Orchestra Filarmonica Nazionale Italiana and the Lucca Philharmonic Orchestra, founded by Colombini in 2010 and rapidly establishing itself as one of the finest orchestra realities in Tuscany and Italy alike. Between 2013 and 2016 he successfully conducted the Orchestra at the Vienna Musikverein, performing Puccini’s music.
