Visit us at IFA – the biggest technology event in 2015

ABB will join the world’s leading tech giants at IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany.
While thousands of visitors will be keen to see trends in consumer electronics, ABB is the only company showcasing electrical installations for the Smart Home segment.
The IFA, a leading global trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, will be held in Berlin, Sept. 4-9. Visitors from more than 100 countries will be able to learn about all the latest trends and technologies such as Motorola’s new Moto 360 smart watch, Sony’s Xperioa Z5 smart phone, or ultra-high definition television screens.
Among these impressive technologies, visitors will also be introduced to ABB’s smart home solutions – presented by its Busch-Jaeger wiring accessories business.
We are participating as the only company from the electrical installation technology segment (booth 104, hall 2.2). Presented under the Living Space® umbrella Busch-Jaeger will feature innovative products and solutions for home and building control. To draw the attention of visitors, we host a daily “Smart Fashion Show” in cooperation with Germany’s leading woman magazine “Brigitte”.
This is the part of ABB that touches end consumers and raising our profile at IFA helps build the Busch-Jaeger brand in the hearts and minds of consumers who want the latest technology in their home.
At ABB, we are seeing a significant upswing in the smart home segment with more people wanting easy access to control the comfort levels of their homes. This is the Internet of Things, Service & People in the home. Connected technology that allows people to create the atmosphere they want at a touch or swipe – or even through voice control.
What is a smart home?
A smart home features building automation, where functions such as lighting, temperature control, blinds and door entry are tailored to users’ needs, with the technology in the background. People benefit from building automation without having to understand the technology. The operation needs to be intuitive to make it as convenient for people as possible.
A year ago, we successfully introduced our free@home solution – under the Busch-Jaeger brand in Germany, Austria and Holland and as ABB elsewhere. It has had a great reception so far. Sales have have exceeded our expectations. Making an affordable solution has opened up the market. In addition, it’s easy to install without a lot of training or specialized software. So, installers, who thought that home automation was too complex or that they’d have to invest too much to be trained, have found a solution that opens it up for them.
This is a fast moving space, with software developments coming in weeks rather than months. It is great to be at the center of this world. So visit us at IFA in Berlin, booth 104, hall 2.2, to experience a new comfort for your home or have a seat and enjoy watching the Smart Fashion Show.
