ABB honors European Mobility Week and your commute

Riding in style: an ABB-branded bus in Singapore.

As European Mobility Week kicks off, we're celebrating the many ways to get from work to home, school, and beyond.

For many of us, September is a busy month – schools reopen, colleagues return from summer holidays, and the back-to-school and back-to-work routine starts all over again. It’s an especially busy time for us at ABB: last week, our CEO announced our Next Level Strategy in London, and we’re gearing up for the Innotrans 2014 show in Berlin, the largest tradeshow in the world for the rail industry.

So it’s especially fitting that we’re celebrating European Mobility Week, which kicked off yesterday. Using the motto “Our streets, our choice”, this year’s event focuses on sustainable transit and improving urban infrastructure: two themes that are also closely tied to ABB’s strategy for the coming years.

For the rest of September, we’ll be documenting the many ways we get to work (and get around) on Instagram, with the #abbcommute hashtag campaign.

Show us how you get around – take a photo of your commute and tag it #ABBcommute on Instagram or Twitter. We’ll share our favorites here on Conversations, and through our Facebook page and Instagram account (and don’t forget to follow us!).

I’m the Global Social Media Manager at ABB. When I’m not busy keeping tabs on the Twitterverse, I look for interesting stories to tell about ABB and great photos to illustrate them with. Prior to joining ABB, I was the Community and Marketing Manager at Gigaom in San Francisco, and I still occasionally dabble as a freelance music journalist. You can also find me exploring new electro and indie music venues or stubbornly trying to prove that it’s possible to ride a fixie around Zurich.
