An advanced technology school

State of the art facility helps customers and students to enter the Learning Zone

I truly believe that there are exciting ways of collaborating with customers, industry peer and students and the recently inaugurated “The Learning Zone” facility, based in the iconic HQ building in Abu Dhabi, is a case in point.  The learning zone, set over 1,000 square meters, showcases ABB’s products, services and solutions, and offers customers, engineers and students over 180 training courses on leading edge technologies in a unique environment. It is one of the kind in the region.

The facility offers some really interesting solutions for collaboration between people and systems, which is fundamental to increasing engineering efficiency, operator effectiveness, safety and asset utilization. Dedicated and customized training in a unique and high-tech environment is on offer to customers and colleagues from all across the region, who visit the facility for professional and engaging courses.

The facility includes 5 training rooms with interactive whiteboards,  1 System 800xA control room demonstrating the ‘Operator Effectiveness’ concept, a large auditorium, an equipment demonstration area, digital display panel zone with augmented reality pod, discrete discussion areas and opportunities for product launches.

There is also an automation arena, which is an interactive experience that takes the customer through a story of a typical plant and the problems that they may face: unplanned shutdowns, issues associated with a retiring workforce and and a lack of internal collaboration. Everything from economic performance and costs, to production efficiency and quality values are available to see in a virtual 3D model of the plant.
