Make life a little easier

Two new mobile apps from ABB’s Power divisions help you to organize your events calendar and learn more about the power sector

I get up in the morning and check the weather forecast – via an app on my smart phone. Then, I find out when the next bus will leave to bring me to work. And what has happened out in the world, and what are my friends up to? My apps are now a part of my life.

Apps? According to Wikipedia, “a mobile application (or mobile app) is a software application designed to run on smart phones, tablet computers and other mobile devices. They are available through application distribution platforms, which are typically operated by the owner of the mobile operating system…” What sounds so complicated is actually quite simple. Nowadays apps are great resource to make our life a little easier, and at the same time more interesting and entertaining.

This is what the two recent apps from ABB’s Power divisions aim to do too.

ABB participates in many trade fairs, exhibitions and technical forums around the world. The ‘Power events’ app provides a dashboard and makes it easy to find us. It includes useful information such as event programs and location maps and also offers the possibility to add your own notes or photos.

The ‘Power land’ app is designed to help you understand the power value chain from generation and transmission to distribution. It also explains some of the macro developments in this sector and shows how ABB technologies are helping to address these challenges.

Both apps are available in Apple’s App store. All you need is an iPad (for the ‘Power land’ app) and/or an iPhone (for the ‘Power events’ app). Easy, no?
